Spa Hotels

Spa HotelsSpa hotels have evolved over years as demand has risen for natural therapies. Taking inspiration from the traditional Spa towns such as Harrogate, Bath and Royal Leamington Spa, a stay at a spa hotel is a wonderful option. People would travel the world to take in the waters at the Spa towns in Roman times, making Spa hotels the modern-day equivalent of those places of therapy and rejuvenation.

Spa hotels tend to pitch themselves at the very top-end of the hotel and accommodation market. Most likely to be 4 or 5 star rated, they will offer everything that you would expect to find in a luxury-end hotel but in addition they have a wonderful extra facility – a spa area.

Spas offer business and leisure guests a space to relax, where it is tranquil and where they can be pampered. A spa visit offers guests the chance to totally spoil themselves in a most beautiful, calming environment. A spa visit takes you completely away from the hustle and bustle of London.

What Are Spa Hotels?

A spa hotel will generally offer all or most of the following facilities and treatments: heated indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna, beauty therapy treatments (including hair removal and personal grooming), manicures, pedicures, reflexology, full-body treatments and various types of massage and other therapies e.g. hot stone. These are all the things you would never come across in budget hotels.

A good spa will go out of its way to make their guests feel as calm and relaxed as possible. There will be spaces to relax in between treatments, meaning you should not feel hurried or rushed. Spas use various aromatherapies to help calm and soothe and evoke a feeling of well-being – there may be relaxing ambient music played to further enhance the experience.

Guests should ensure that they always inform their therapists if they have any pre-existing medical conditions as certain procedures may not be suitable. In addition to the treatments mentioned, the spa hotel will have normally offer leisure facilities such as a gym or dance studio (or both) as standard.
